STRENGHTENED RPKI ON RESTENA INFRASTRUCTURE

The implementation of the Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) has been strengthened on the network infrastructure managed by Restena. Intended to improve the security of routing on the Internet, more specifically to avoid traffic aspiration by certifying the ownership of routes on the Internet, RPKI filtering is now protecting information entering and leaving the Luxembourgish network for research and education, the domain name registration system under the national extension .lu and the backbone of the Luxembourg Internet exchange point LU-CIX. NEW POP AND FIRST 100 GBIT/S CONNECTION

A 12th point of presence has expanded the network dedicated to research and education in Luxembourg’s backbone. The first national connection to the GÉANT network via a bandwidth of 100 Gbit/s is now established and the Luxembourg supercomputer MeluXina’s network performance requirements are covered. EXTENDED RANGE OF CLOUD SUPPLIERS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Following a public tender led by the GÉANT association, the European research and education community is benefiting for four years from new cloud-based service providers and services. In Luxembourg, 13 platforms and a range of services broadened from IaaS to SaaS are now available. Read more

DNS SERVERS: DNSSEC ALSO FOR MY.LU USERS

Users of the my.lu platform can now benefit from authoritative name servers enabling DNSSEC when registering .lu domain names. The offer, previously only offered to research and education institutions, has been expanded thanks to a new infrastructure. Read more
