Advanced protection and security thanks to good email hygiene

The Restena Foundation has published a tip sheet listing the best practices for email hygiene as part of its awareness-raising activities on computer security issues and its European LuCySe4RE project.

Entitled ‘Best practices for email hygiene’, the tip sheet published in November 2024 by the Restena Foundation is available in French and English. It highlights the good practices to adopt and those to avoid protecting and securing your professional email address and mailbox. Hex, the mascot accompanying Restena in its computer security awareness activities since the summer of 2024, also gives a few tips.

The tip sheet is published as part of the awareness-raising activities on computer security issues led by its CSIRT, the Computer Security Incident Response Team dedicated to the Luxembourg research and education sectors. It completes the existing series made of five existing tip sheets. Those are about how to react when a cyberattack occurs, the importance of having a strong password, the growing and invasive phenomenon of spam and phishing messages, social engineering attacks and data back-up.

The tip sheet is an awareness-raising tool for research and education stakeholders in Luxembourg. Since 2023, it has been set up as part of the European LuCySe4RE project - that has received funding from the European Union’s Digital Europe programme (DIGITAL) – whose aim is to improve protection against the cybersecurity risks faced by the Luxembourg research and education community.
